In-Game Editor

Create and edit crates, rewards, items, actions, holograms and particles without touching a file.

/cratesadmin editor opens a menu editor over the crates/ folder. Every change is written straight to the crate’s file and reloaded at once, so what you see in the editor is always what is on disk. /cratesadmin editor <crate> jumps straight to one crate.

The editor only edits crate files. Menus (guis/), preview designs (previews/) and animations stay hand-written.

  1. Open /cratesadmin editor.
  2. Hold the item you want the crate to look like.
  3. Click New Crate (the slime ball) and type a name in chat. Names may use lowercase letters, numbers, - and _ (up to 32 characters).

The new file is seeded from the held item: it becomes the crate’s display item, its place item and a first reward that gives a copy of the item. The crate starts in ROLL mode with no animation, mass opens on, the first free slot in the crates menu, and the first design in previews/.

In the crate list, left click a crate to edit it and shift right click to delete it (behind a confirm menu). Deleting removes the file from the server for good.

Button Does
Crate Mode Switches between ROLL and PICK. Switching to PICK also turns the preview on, since a picker needs it.
Spin Animation Cycles none and every loaded animation.
Crate Preview Toggles the preview. Locked on while the mode is PICK.
Preview Menu Cycles the designs in previews/.
Mass Open Toggles opening several keys at once. Locked while the mode is PICK.
Display Amount Chat prompt for the crate icon’s stack size. -1 shows the player’s key balance.
Display Slot Chat prompt for the crate’s slot in /crates.
Display Item / Place Item Click with an item in hand to replace it. The display slot is kept.
No Keys Item Click with an item in hand to set it, shift right click to clear it.
Particles / Hologram Open the particle and hologram editors.
Rewards Opens the reward list.
Delete Crate Deletes the crate file, behind a confirm menu.

The reward list shows every reward with its chance and its share of the crate total.

Click Does
Left click Edit the reward.
Right click Move it one place later.
Shift left click Move it one place earlier.
Shift right click Delete it (behind a confirm menu). The last reward cannot be deleted.
New Reward Hold an item and click: adds a reward with Chance: 10 that gives that item.

Reward order matters: it is the order of the preview, the summary message and the order rewards are handed out.

Inside a reward:

  • Display Item - click with an item in hand to replace the icon shown in previews and animations.
  • Chance - chat prompt. Must be above 0.
  • Items Given - opens the items grid.
  • Actions - opens the action list.

The items grid holds up to 36 items, handed to the player when the reward is won.

  • Shift click an item in your own inventory to add a copy of it. Nothing is taken from you.
  • Right click moves an item later, shift left click moves it earlier.
  • Shift right click removes it.

A reward must keep at least one item or one action, so removing the last item of a reward without actions is refused.

Reward actions and hologram lines use the same list editor.

Click Does
Left click Rewrite the line in chat.
Right click Move it later.
Shift left click Move it earlier.
Shift right click Delete it.
New Action / New Line Type a new line in chat; it is added at the bottom.

Actions are typed exactly as they appear in the file, for example [console] give {player} diamond $1. See reward actions.

  • Particles: toggle, interval (ticks), particle name (Dust, or NAME;ox;oy;oz;speed;count for any other particle) and color (one hex color, or several separated by commas).
  • Hologram: toggle, height, update interval (ticks) and the line list. Add at least one line before enabling it.

Buttons that need a value close the menu and ask in chat with EDITOR-PROMPT. Type the value, or type cancel (or send an empty line) to stop. The menu reopens either way. A value that is not a number where one is needed is rejected with INVALID-NUMBER.

Text is saved as typed, color codes and MiniMessage tags included.

Every editor menu, button, slot and line comes from guis/editor/, and the words used in prompts come from Editor-Format in config.yml. See editor menus.
