messages.yml

Edit, disable and translate every message OptimalKoth sends, plus optional screen titles.

Every message lives in messages.yml. Each supports legacy & codes, &#hex, MiniMessage and (with PlaceholderAPI) %...%. After editing, run /kothadmin reload.

Messages:
HILL-TAKEN:
Message:
Enabled: true
Value:
- '&5[&d&lKOTH&5] &f{capturer} &7now holds {koth}&7, &f{time-left} &7left to win it!'
  • Enabled: false silences a message entirely.
  • Value is a list - every line is sent. An empty line '' sends a blank line.
  • Keep the {tokens} intact; don’t rename the message keys.

Missing keys are re-added with their defaults the next time the file loads, so you can delete a block to reset it.

Any message can also show a title and subtitle on screen. Add a Title: block next to Message::

Messages:
KOTH-WON:
Message:
Enabled: true
Value:
- '&5[&d&lKOTH&5] &f{capturer} &7won {koth} &7after &f{elapsed}&7!'
Title:
Enabled: true
Title: "&2&m━━━&r &a&lKOTH &f&lWon &2&m━━━&r"
Sub-Title: "&f{capturer} &7won {koth}&7!"
  • Title is the large centre line, Sub-Title the smaller line beneath it. Either can be left ''.
  • Optional Fade-In, Stay and Fade-Out set the timings in ticks (defaults 10, 60, 10).
  • The same {tokens} the message uses resolve in the title and subtitle.
  • Enabled: false hides only the title, leaving the chat message untouched.
  • Titles only show to players, never to the console.

KOTH-STARTED and KOTH-WON ship with a title enabled. Add a Title: block to any other key the same way.

  • Announcements (KOTH-STARTED, KOTH-STOPPED, KOTH-TIMED-OUT, MINIMUM-PLAYERS-NOT-MET, HILL-TAKEN, HILL-PROGRESS, HILL-DROPPED, KOTH-WON) go to every online player and to the console. Most come with a sound from Inventories-Sounds.
  • Everything else goes only to the admin who ran the command (or clicked with the wand).

Errors: PLAYER-ONLY, NO-PERMISSION, INVALID-KOTH, INVALID-NAME, KOTH-EXISTS, KOTH-DISABLED, SELECTION-INCOMPLETE, SELECTION-WORLD-MISMATCH, WORLD-NOT-LOADED, ALREADY-ACTIVE, NOT-ACTIVE, NO-KOTHS.

  • KOTH-ADMIN-HELP is the help panel shown by /kothadmin with no (or an unknown) subcommand, and when a subcommand is missing its <koth> argument.
